  1. 01 · The problem

    What was wrong

Pitch bookings were handled by asking someone and hoping it got written down.

  2. 02 · What I built

    The fix

A members-only club intranet built around the weekend grid — the club's own paper sketch made live — with booking requests, one-tap approval by email, pitch closures and a proper audit trail.

  3. 03 · How it works

    The parts that matter

    • The weekend grid — pitches across, times down. Printable sheet and CSV export.
    • Booking requests only offer genuinely free kick-off times, calculated from FA game lengths by age group including warm-up and clear-down.
    • One-tap approval by email — approve or reject from the link, no login. If the approver is away 48 hours, any admin can step in.
    • Pitch closures: a waterlogged pitch is closed in one screen and every affected contact is notified in one click.
    • Documents with version history, expiry warnings and role-based visibility.
    • News, pinned posts, and “referee needed” callouts with an “I can cover this” button.
    • Teams U7–U18, with player data locked to that team's own coaches.
    • Append-only audit trail on every change.
    • Tested properly: unit tests on the booking logic and WCAG contrast, live database security proofs against the RLS policies, and a full Playwright journey.
  4. 04 · What changed

    The outcome

A coach requests a pitch, one person approves it from their phone, and the whole club can see what's booked.
