  1. 01 · The problem

    What was wrong

Interim inspection reports were done on paper, typed up later, and the photos lived on someone's phone.

  2. 02 · What I built

    The fix

A React Native app with no backend at all — everything stays on the device — plus a desktop portal for editing inspections that syncs to every device.

  3. 03 · How it works

    The parts that matter

    • A ten-step inspection flow with eight standard rooms pre-populated and extra fields for kitchen and bathroom. Rooms can be renamed, added or removed.
    • Camera capture and library photos, stored per inspection, long-press to delete.
    • Auto-saves on every keystroke — closing the app mid-inspection loses nothing.
    • Validation that warns rather than blocks: an empty required field shows a banner, and tapping Next again proceeds anyway.
    • Generates a branded PDF report on the device and shares it straight to the landlord.
    • A desktop portal for editing inspections that syncs to every device, plus bulk draft deletion.
    • Currently v1.0.5, built and distributed with EAS.
  4. 04 · What changed

    The outcome

The report is finished, branded and emailed before the inspector has left the property.
